About the data
This website is independent. It is not affiliated with the UK Government, UK Visas and Immigration, or the Home Office, and it is not an official service.
Where the data comes from
The authoritative source is the GOV.UK Register of licensed sponsors: workers. The site reads the official publication through the GOV.UK content API, downloads the CSV attached to that page, and stores the rows in its database. A direct file address can be configured if GOV.UK moves the CSV. Third-party sponsor lists are not used.
When it was last imported
Last successfully verified: Not yet completed. The publication timestamp reported with that file: Not available in the source data.
How often it is checked
The register is checked every morning at 8:00 UK time. On the hosted service that is 07:00 UTC, which is 8:00 during British Summer Time and 7:00 after the clocks go back. If this server stays running, the check is 8:00 UK time all year. It also checks on startup when the last success is older than 20 hours. If the file matches the last good copy, the check time still moves forward and the companies stay as they are. If the download fails, the previous list stays in place.
What the sponsor register means
The register lists organisations licensed to sponsor workers on the Worker and Temporary Worker routes, the route names they hold, and a sponsorship rating. That is the whole of what this site repeats.
What it does not mean
A licence on this list does not mean
- Vacancies are open
- Every role is sponsored
- Every occupation is covered
- A visa is guaranteed
The official file has no industry, occupation, vacancy or website field. Shortcuts for IT, healthcare, universities and care homes match words in the organisation name only. Scotland is grouped from Scottish place names because the file has no nation column. County is often blank; those records say the county is not available in the source data. Company type is read from words such as Limited or PLC in the name, or marked as not in the file.
Names
Organisation, town and county text is trimmed and repeated spaces are collapsed. Spelling and capitalisation otherwise stay as published. Several routes for the same organisation in the same town and county are shown together on one profile.
